DIRTY WORK
Our company is going through a hard time right now. There have been a few top managers who suddenly left the company, which only fueled more speculation about who else might be leaving, voluntarily or not. Over the past few months our boss has begun speaking in riddles. Instead of telling us what he wants, he's either extremely unclear or hiding in his office with the door shut.
Needless to say, morale has never been lower. Many of us have worked here for more than 20 years, but I'm not sure how much longer I can remain under these conditions. - Scared in Stoughton
If the saying "misery loves company" means anything to you, you'll take some comfort in knowing what you've described is playing out in offices across the country as the economy struggles. Sounds like it's time for you to write a new resume and start looking for contacts who might help you find a new job.
